Beatriz del Campo Herrero-PhD student

Beatriz del Campo Herrero was born in Valladolid in 1998. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). During her final year, she joined Dr. Susana Campuzano’s group in the Department of Analytical Chemistry, where she worked on developing biosensors for the detection of cancer-related DNA methylations with single-base resolution.

She then completed a Master’s Degree in Organic Chemistry at the Complutense University of Madrid in 2022. Her master’s project, carried out under the supervision of Dr. Mar Martín-Fontecha in the Medicinal Chemistry Lab (UCM), focused on designing and synthesizing bioconjugates based on cannabinoid ligands for potential therapeutic applications.

After completing her master’s studies, she moved to Seville (IIQ-CSIC), where he joined Dr. Noureddine Khiar’s group to work on a project for the development of cannabinoids for the treatment of malignant hemopathy related with Plataforma Salud Global + (CSIC).

In 2024, Beatriz joined the Glycotechnology Lab to start her PhD under the supervision of Dr. Niels C. Reichardt and Dr. June Ereño-Orbea. Her current research focuses on the development of sialoglycomimetics as Siglec-targeting immunomodulators.
