Nerea Ruiz received her PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of the Basque Country in 2008. After that, she worked first in CIC BiomaGUNE as technician and in the University Hospital of Cruces (Spain) as Research Support Technician. She has experience in Organic Synthesis and, more specifically, in Chemo-enzymatic Synthesis of Carbohydrates. She is also interested in several techniques for purification and characterization of compounds, such as NMR, or HPLC. She started working for CIC biomaGUNE in 2012 as Postdoctoral Researcher in the project “Asparia glycomics” that aims to develop glycan analysis solutions for Biopharmaceutical characterization and Clinical Biomarker discovery. Since 2016 she is working as a CIBER-BBN fellow in the glycotechnology lab.
